This couldn’t be a more perfect example of someone’s job becoming a whole lot easier.
On Tuesday, season ticket-sellers for the New Orleans Pelicans got together to watch the NBA Draft lottery, and the Pelicans had a 6% chance of landing the No. 1 pick, who, this year, likely will be former Duke player Zion Williamson, widely regarded as a generational prospect who could transform the future of a franchise.
Lo and behold, the Pelicans won the lottery and the No. 1 pick, much to the delight of the season ticket-sellers.
Check out their reaction in the tweet below, when they found out the Pelicans won the draft lottery. You can’t help but smile, can you?

Hours before the draft, a report came out that the New York Knicks, who, along with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Phoenix Suns, had the best chances of getting the No. 1 pick, would trade Williamson for Pelicans star big man Anthony Davis, if the Knicks won the lottery and landed the top pick.
Davis demanded a trade from the Pelicans in February, and speculation has been rampant ever since, regarding which team he would be dealt to this offseason — after he wasn’t traded at the deadline.
Here’s some irony: Now, Davis’ team owns that No. 1 pick after winning the lottery, which means Williamson is likely heading to New Orleans.
Let the speculation begin as to whether Davis will still be traded or whether he’ll have a change of heart and want to stay in New Orleans with Williamson likely coming aboard.
Regardless, it’s great news for those trying to sell season-ticket packages for the Pelicans. Those people might have one of the easiest jobs in the world right about now.
